Tory Lanez is preparing to release new music.
The rapper and singer announced a new double album, “Made You Think I Was Gone … But,” which is scheduled to arrive July 17, according to reports.
The project is expected to be divided into two discs, with one focused on rap and the other centered on R&B. The announcement follows online speculation after unreleased tracks connected to Lanez circulated on social media.
TMZ reported that the leaked tracks were real and that Lanez later confirmed the project. Ratings Game Music also reported that the album will highlight both sides of Lanez’s musical identity.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, remains incarcerated following his conviction in the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He has continued releasing music while serving his sentence.
The new album follows a period in which Lanez’s catalog has remained active through previously recorded material and prison-era releases. The upcoming two-disc format leans into the balance that has defined much of his career: melodic R&B and rap-centered records.
